No interest in migrating here. vBulletin is fine as it is.

I certainly see it as a risk to downgrade and port over when they are caught up in a lawsuit.

A voice of reason although I doubt license owners will be hurt if zen loses. More than likely if IB wins they will take control of it like photopost did with vbgallery. If zen wins then life goes on.

I don't think this will turn into a change of ownership. It will likely be a 'stop selling with xyz feature' or 'stop selling' altogether.

I bought a XenForo license for testing, it was so much different than vB, much more enjoyable backend and frontend experience. My thoughts on migrating my other forums would be totally dependent on how far the modding community grows and if vBSEO offers a XenForo related product that current license holders can trade-in for. That's my hope even though signs of this are VERY far-off if not non-existent.

As stated before, we are not looking to branch out into xenforo at this time.

Wasn't asking if you were. As I also stated this "That's my hope even though signs of this are VERY far-off if not non-existent."

I bought one just to play around with it.
I have a blog project that is very very small and I'll install it on that domain.

    http://www.asthmafragen.net/forum/

However I wont switch any of my active forums to XF.
vBulletin served me well for over 5 years and with vB4 Traffic nearly doubled on all my forums so I am not going to change that

I've been building a new community on XenForo. While there are feature gaps, it has some benefits that have usually required an add-on or plug-in to easily implement. The users just comment that the site is "easy to get into" and "is easier to read".

Crawlability needs to re-consider their business strategy.

As discussed before, there simply isn't a profitable market for us to enter into at this time on the xenforo platform, and the future of said product is up in the air with the law suits.

Until things are settled, and if xenforo becomes a leading platform with a solid customer base, and there is an oppertunity to expand on the core SEO or other features of the product, the idea is tabled. We have not ventured into IPB for similar reasons.

Stating that Xenforo's future is "up in the air", because of the current events, is inappropriate.

If you want to say that vbulletin is the only forum-software platform Crawlability will ever support, I wouldn't agree with that strategy, but would respect the decision.

The above statement is not remotely accurate.

the future of xenforo IS up in the air. Be it as a piece of software, or as a company, or as a following.

It is still a beta product
It is being sued by a huge corporation with lots of funding
It has little following (less than vb, ipb, phpbb, smf, etc etc) in terms of member count, and thus likely sold licenses.

Additionally, xenforo has some seo features built in to it, making our potential market even slimmer. While vb4 is similar in nature, I assure you that if we were not an established company, we would not have stood a chance vs core vb4, even though we clearly win in the feature comparison.

We have other projects in the works that are not tied to vb.

We are a company that needs to make a profit so all of us can eat and pay our rent. Dumping 10,000 man hours into something that has a potential for 200 license sales is simply a poor business decision, and it is why we are at this position.

then what is your considered threshold for actualizing a product for xenforo? does it require that xenforo wins the lawsuit or does it require that xenforo has at least 100 000 members so you can get a vague estimate of licensed customers?
btw even if a corporatiion who has alot of funds doesnt mean they will win in every lawsuit. Money doesnt decide the justice

We don't have an established figure.

Keep in mind, we HAVEN'T made anything for IPB either that has 147,000 members. It's not JUST the member count.

The main issue here is that the man hours WON'T return our investment in license sales, training the staff to LEARN xenforo inside and out (we can't support something we don't know 100% when people ask us questions) at current anticiapted sales levels. Not even close. Not even 10%. Until that other 90% is met, it's simply not going to even be considered as a viable business venture for Crawability.

As this topic has gone extremely off-topic at this point in time, I'm going to close it down. Please stop asking about us making something for XXXXXX. If it is to come, we will post an announcement about it. Otherwise, assume we are not.
