What do you think XenForo is doing right that vBulletin is not?

I have seem some comments here from members who claim that XenForo offers a lot more than what vBulletin does at the moment. I had like to see your opinion!

Personally, I think XenForo has turned out to be just a glorified forum software with a modern backend.

Their styling tools are of course top class and very powerful (and simple to use).

But... As a forum system, I do not see it offering anything different from what we already have.

    Looking to hear your views!

Update: Should make it clear however that I am not talking about the customer support and customer interaction by the vBulletin developers/team. I am talking about the core functionality of the forum.

It's damn fast, speed of light,
    It's more intuitive
It has many user friendly options, too many to mention

And its just my first thoughts after 20 minutes on it

speed would depend upon how nicely your server is configured.
more intuitive as in... point out something! of course, some things are easier. like cleaning up spam. accessing user profiles. essentially you load up fewer pages to accomplish the same things. but in the end, it remains a glorified version of what we have been for a long time.

I can't agree it loads faster on same server. Much faster.

About beeing user friendly it has many options that took me hours to modify code of vbulletin.

Like status for example, the like thingy which we have inhere, the Alerts, The feeds sytem ect..

PS. I believe this topic will be closed or deleted until the lawsuit is in court.
I love vbulletin and i like the idea it has a competition finally, IPB wasn't one.

    It's fast because it's empty

clear out your post table and members table and watch how fast vb can be too.

Brian might be yes, althought i do clear my dbs every week.
vB still didn't managed to fix the thing that makes vb 4.0 template load partially, the background loads with delay on forums and blogs, it's weird..

Xenforo is a script that didn't successfully take attention of PhPBB users. It surely take attention of vBulletin customers because of the early issues vBulletin 4 had. Additionally the huge advertisement some ex vBulletin users helped XenForo to get incredible marketing. But lets look at the main issue and check the record of the highly advised XenForo developers. They were in charge of vBulletin since early days and they were failed to deliver the long awaited CMS , CSS based style and many other things. vBulletin 3.7 was prepared by Kier and his team and everything was not in perfect shape with those also. XenForo is surely excited but it has a very long way until it reaches vbulletin and iPB . Currently it can't be compared with vBulletin or iPB at any level imo. yes vBulletin still have some issues but in long run they are trying to correct all the issues. I wish good luck to XenForo and i personally own multiple licenses but it at least needs 2-3 years to reach the maturity level of vBulletin or IPB

Joomla is HORRIBLE at eating resources.

My guess is he lost all his urls and his traffic took a dump with it. no traffic = lighter server load.

I'm not really interested in a little test of one person -> there are many ways to tweak your server?

Was everything set correctly for vB ? I would rather like to see a real test with different forums different servers and different settings..

Mmm I like to ask much before I jump to a quick conclusion! Would love to see a (grand scale ) test with experts on the field.

just some things that come in mind, I'm no expert at this at all! I'm just a newbie. hihi
