I've now enforced GEOIP blocking using mod_geoip. My site doesn't target many countries so blocking those that have no reason being there, is no loss of income to me.

    Cheers

In your case, i shoud stay in Australia too.
Tokyo is still far away from Australia.

In my case Amsterdam --> Brussel is only 170KM, but it's the Netherlands instead of Belgium.
I have planned to switch to Cloudflare tomorrow.
I also have lots of local visitors, but my forum is in the travel industry and users logging in from around the world when they travel.

I switched back to my normal setup after looking lots of high numbers...

My global average response time went from 500 ms to 710 ms (tested with Hyperspin)
My page load time went from 1,1 second to 9 - 22 seconds (tested with pingdom, Page Speed / YSlow)

I also got 502 bad gateway form Amsterdam, Milan and Frankfurt. (tested with Hyperspin)

    I tested for 24 hours.

Now that i switched back to my own nameservers the forum is loading faster than on cloudflare, the response time is faster. and there are no 502 bad gateway errors.

I know how to configure my dns, there where no errors.

Good to see this one still going.

I have spent the last three or four days redoing my htaccess
Using the latest bot list from Wolfshead solutions and the track guest visits by Paul M as my main source for tracking hits
About 2/3 of mine are spam hits. Which is not good

Any ips shown from ThePlanet, ban
    Any ips from Softlayer ban
That sounds harsh. But, checking my email today, from between 3am and 11am.
    I no longer need viagra.
By banning clusters from China, I no longer need a fake rolex

If you add the following code to the spider list, you will catch another prolific spammer
    PHP Code:
            <spider ident="FREE">
                    <
    name>Spam Bot</name>
            </
    spider
Others to look for if your using the latest spider list are Artabus and Deepnet explorer
Again these are user agents that are used by the code kiddies

Im getting hit by idiots from what seems like every open proxy on the net
