    vBulletin 3.6.2 released

    vBulletin 3.6.2

The vBulletin team is always keen to stay on top of newly discovered problems in the software and when a potential data-loss flaw was discovered in vBulletin 3.6.1 a patch was released within hours.

This release includes that patch, along with fixes for a number of other problems and glitches that have been found along the way.

Although this is not a security-driven release, it does nonetheless contain resolutions for several important bugs and we would recommend that all customers upgrade to 3.6.2 at their earliest convenience.

Yeah i skipped 3.6.1 upgrade as i imagined there will be a quick upgrade because of the data loss problem. Good decision for me

I have a quick question...Is there an easier way to upgrade the forums instead of uploading all the files and reverting all the templates?? I have a heavily modified vBulletin where the .php files are altered for hacks, etc..After upgrading which takes like 5 minutes, it takes me an hour or so adding all the code back to the .php pages and the templates. I know when I had phpBB they had code changes which was much easier for me...

With vB 3.5 and up, there's no need to make any changes to the PHP files. Stick with hacks that use the plugin system, and upgrading is a snap.

Also, review the template changes that Jelsoft lists (and use the built in comparison tool) to see what has changed in the template, and make the required changes to your modified templates.

I won't be upgrading anytime soon. I tried and was faced with error after error. The Vbulletin team should be releasing a new version to remedy these problems. Even the Installation doesn't work right when upgrading.

Must be my server then because all I get is:

    >>>

Unable to add cookies, header already sent.
    File: /home/techtv2/public_html/unexplained/includes/class_core.php
    Line: 3070

On the main index and the installation just refreshes and doesn't do anything.

be sure to disbale htaccess before upgrading. the vbseo file screws the upgrade system some time. I just rename it to htaccess.txt while i upgrade, then rename it back to .htaccess.

i skipped 3.6.1 and went from .0 to .2 with no issues on 4 sites.

Good note to remember regarding the htaccess. Haven't ran into that proble yet when upgrading, but I will do this just as a precaution from now on.
