    vBSEO Site Width

I want to ask the owner a question about the sites fixed width here here.

I'm creating a site were I was going to use a fixed width of 760 pixels to suit people using a screen res of 800X600

But I noticed your using a what can only persume is a Fixed Width of 865 pixels after using HyperSnap to measure the sites width. Can you please tell me if you are in fact using a fixed width of 865 pixels. And if so how comes when I change screen res to 1024X768 your sites template still fits my browser on the width OK even though you are using a fixed width of 865 which is wider than 768

    1024x768 is 1024 wide, not 768 wide.

sorry yes I just figured out that I got it wrong and it's the 1024 not the 768 that the 865 fits into. Doooooooo!

But how would it fair then if a person used 800X600 then, as the 865 is wider than that screen res? Or is this site not using a fixed width?

Well, I think most people these days are running at least 1024x768.

My site requires horizontal scrolling at 800x600 as well.

I see what you mean - I just viewed your site at the same 800X600 res and your site doesn't fit also.

800 pixels wide is too limiting for me. I specifically gear it for at least 1024.

yeah, I understand that 800X600 these days is an old res because a 17 inch monitor that uses 1024X768 by default is really cheap and more or less a standard these days. I was mainly just a little curious if this site had it configured another way so the fixed width of 865 still fitted a 800X600 res to suit all people seeing as this is a commercial site.

    But it doesn't.

Yeah, it'll be interesting to learn Juan's reasoning for doing it here. I'm waiting to see his response as well.
