Is it me or is there something causing this site to prevent smooth scrolling of pages? No other sites do it... just this one... and it is very annoying.

I got a reply from here from Brian Cummiskey:
But it disappeared?blocking tweetbaord fixes it for me in FF
Sorry, we were having a moderator discussion about the topic, and i forgot to hit moderate before replying
We are aware of the issue... we're trying to pinpoint exactly what's causing it. Thanks.

I noticed the same thing happened to my site today. The change in scrolling behavior happened right after I took my google analytics code out of the footer and checked the box to let VBSEO do it for me. I think VBSEO is inserting a different analytics script than I was using previously. Also VBSEO is putting the code near the top whereas I had it near the bottom. I wish I had kept the code I was using previously so I caould say which version it was for sure. (If memory serves correct it was the second-newest version) Actually, hold. Google has a cashed page...here's what I WAS using--before the scrolling got all mushy and jaggy.
Does anyone know why this is happening and how to fit it?
Code:<script type="text/javascript"> var gaJsHost = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? "https://ssl." : "http://www."); document.write(unescape("%3Cscript src='" + gaJsHost + "google-analytics.com/ga.js' type='text/javascript'%3E%3C/script%3E")); </script> <script type="text/javascript"> try { var pageTracker = _gat._getTracker("UA-xxxxxxxx-1"); pageTracker._trackPageview(); } catch(err) {}</script>
I see you are using tweetboard on your site. Does the scrolling get better if you temp. disable tweetboard?

How the heck do you know what my site is? Standby. I will check.
It is better, but still kind of choppy and jaggy, it will scroll a little faster now. I'm going to try the TB w/o analytics, that's when the issue started--on the first page refresh after doing the auto analytics thing...
Huh. I'm going to boot into Linux and try it in FF there
As i am a staff member, i can look up your license and see your url privately.
As analytics adds no dhtml, it shouldn't cause any issues with scrolling. TB on the other hand, does do a js-based write and a positioned element which can sometimes cause some choppy scrolling.

Oh how I wish I could abandon Windows altogether! Everything just glides in Ubuntu!
Thank you sir! It is in fact the TB that seems to correlate most with the scrolling issue--we'll probably keep it for now; it's more an annoyance than an big problem. I'm not a programmer by any stretch, so I need it simply. Would it be accurate to say that this is a horsepower issue--the TweetBoard is using local machine's resources at all times?
As an aside, I spoke with one of your sales reps today, Ceri. He was exceedingly helpful, like you were this evening, and went the extra mile to be sure he gave answers I could understand. I was dreading the call because of my experiences with another V*'s robot-tech support. When I hung up the phone with Ceri I was smiling.
We're on day two of the VBSEO experience, and so far even if the product turns out to not do what we need, we'd probably still be happy. I'm that enamored with your support--Keep up the GREAT work!
Now I'm going to wikipedia to figure out what the heck dhtml is...

Glad you are having a good expereince so far. We strive to be the best we can
FYI- "Carrie" is actually Ceri
dhtml = dynamic html
It's not a matter of using resources-- it's simply the way it stays positioned on the left middle at all times. When you scroll, that 'left middle' position moves, and it needs to recalculate that fixed position.

Fixed the spelling.
That's a very elegant explanation--perfect. Is there a way to make it try to stay in position a little less vociferously--maybe reduce a refresh rate or some other timing function?
Thanks again.
Unfortunately, it's a bit out of our support realm to go any further into troubleshooting it. It's a known issue that is very browser dependant, as you've seen. vBSEO adds a place to make it hook/display easily, but any technical issues you will have to head over to tweetboard.com and use their support forums.
