    Tips on newsletter-software?

    Hi all,

I wonder what's the best solution for sending newsletters to members. Right now, I'm using the Geek Gazette (GAZ), which unfortunately is far from satisfying.

Can you please share some hints on what external mass-mailers are available? I need to send plain text as well as pretty complex HTML-newsletters.

    Thanks!

I am glad you posted this as I was looking into GAZ very heavily, but the plain txt is a pretty important to me.

Yes, actually I sold my license yesterday, because right now it's not even clear, if the support will ever continue. GAZ follows a great concept, but for me there are still just too many issues to be solved.

So can anybody recommend an external application or something? For me it's not necessary, that the solution is tightliy integrated with the forum. I just need a great mass-mailer, which allows me to send well-formatted plain-text as well as more complex HTML mails.

    Thanks!

It's a monthly service...you never own it. Which I dislike.

Mailman Mailing lists is what I see many forums use. I guess they have rewritten the pages or their forum links so users sign up on their forums then the conformation link is sent out from mailman the user accepts and your done.

EPC vbMailer [LITE] All in ONE E-mail Solution - vBulletin.org Forum

Great, GREAT mod! I didn't read everyone's replies but I think you'll like this. Check it out...see what you think. I've bought the full license and I love it! Especially since it takes care of bounced emails, PM's the user to tell them to update their email, puts them to a bounced list so they dont get emails and then deletes the bounced emails from your server. I get 100's a day...so this saved me a bunch of time going through emails, deleting emails, etc.

Well, I'm currently experimenting with OpenNewsletter, which is looking pretty promising so far. Thanks for your input though. I'll definitely check it out later, guys!

Email Marketing, Email Marketing Software, Newsletter Software Solution

Using this - we send out over half a million emails a month. Works like a gem and phenomenal support from the tech team. We moved to this after using octeth pro

I agree, seems like a lot for 20.00 a month. Not worth it to me at least.

Well if you don't want to pay monthly...use the vbulletin mod that I posted. I'm sure you'll find it very useful...and its only ~$6 usd.
