I'm going to miss vBSEO. I still remember the day I first learned about vBSEO on vB official forums and started reading posts on this forum. After reading several positive reviews, I decided to give it a try. I installed vBSEO on our vB 3.x (then) powered CrazyEngineers Forum and the rest is a history. The traffic growth was just unbelievable! After the initial drop for about 1-2 weeks, traffic started skyrocketing! vBSEO has been instrumental in CE's success.
I was one of the early adopters of vB4 and thought it would bring in new stuff. However, vB4 proved to be a disaster. Upgrades were never smooth. Every vB4 upgrade would break something and once I'm done fixing problems; I'd be presented with a new version to be installed as 'security' upgrade! Come on! I wanted to concentrate on building community and not on fixing technical problems! I really got pissed off when one vB4 intermediate upgrade randomly removed the ad-spot after first post. It took us a week to figure out how to add it on our own and resulted in loss of revenue. We've had enough!
I found out that I wasn't the only webmaster going through the pain. However, vBSEO was *the reason* I stuck with vB4 for about 2 years. On one hand, I badly wanted to abandon vBulletin; but vBSEO made me stick to it. Xenforo was luring me and I bought a license on the first day of its release. I must say that the developers have done a wonderful job. Everything just works! Finally, I decided to take the plunge and move to XF.
I will miss vBSEO. Your product is wonderful. Your support is awesome! You've always went out of the way to help me with my issues. Just the product that it needs to run isn't the same anymore.
Although you've stated that vBSEO won't consider Xenforo; I just hope you will, some day. You've made a crappy product (vB4) wonderful in terms of SEO. Why not make an already wonderful product (XF) *awesome*?
Hope to see you on XF.
