Taking the leap of faith - vb4 presale

    Hi guys,

Will you be upgrading your vb licenses before the 30th to take advantage of the savings? I just found myself staring down a shopping cart loaded with upgrade licenses for a staggering fee over at vb.com and had to browse away because I couldn't stand the sight of it.

I'm torn. While buying the upgrade licenses now would cost much more than I'm comfortable spending at the moment, I suspect I will want to transition to an integrated CMS eventually and can't imagine staying "behind" at 3.8 forever... I know it will only become more expensive after Friday.

What have you guys decided to do?

I have one already, and think I will upgrade another license. 2/5 will be the Suite license.

I'm in the same boat. I had it in my cart, but then balked away.

I will likely get at least one license for testing, etc.... but i'm not sold on upgrading my board to it yet. LOTS of work involved in that... skin, add ons, plugins, yadda yadda..... By the time i get around to it, vb5 may be out :X

I took the jump and bought 4 vB4 suite upgrades, and considering 1 more for a test forum (to later use on another project).

My vB (owned) license expired just yesterday. Didn't renew/upgrade.
I'll buy a full suite license (new) early next year.

It'd be awkward since I would have access to vBSEO 3.5; but not vB 4 to run it on.

I wish I could buy VB4 at this price, but I can't afford anything.

I just wish iB and vB Solutions would just stop thinking about money for a second, and considered the customers. But it doesn't look like they care.

I mean, 2 weeks is not enough time for someone to decide and buy. Some don't have jobs...so the deadline is stressful for some.

I just don't know what to do

I lost my faith in vB ... this is not the same product I brought when I start and I think vBulletin/Jelsoft soul died the day the main developers left.

We are talking about a new company, new product a new license scheme that i know that they will not honor in a near future.

The interest in making money is all over the place and no one can ensure what IB will do when they stop making from vB.

IB should at least let people download v4 beta and gave us an opportunity to fully test the product.
At the same time, IB should not force costumers to buy a product (suite) just for the price. They should have a promotion to forums only too.

I don't identify myself with these practices and at this time my money will stay in my pocket.
I just don't like this rude attitude, so I think I'll wait to see where it goes.

I hope Crawlability seriously consider IPB as an alternative.

Again, an IPB solution is not in our immediate future.

I upgraded today to take advantage of the sale. I figured it was inevitable so I may as well save what I can.
