Socal earthquake!

Anybody else in socal with me feel it? A 5.4 hit us really closed, followed by a bunch of smaller ones. We are only about a city over from the center of it. (Border of Anaheim and Yorba Linda)

I was teaching my kids when it all happened. A sudden jolt for about 20 seconds and then it cooled down a bit, but you could feel the earth just moving softly beneath your feet. The kids had to stay under their desks for a few minutes before it was safe enough for them to move. No serious injuries were reported.

I heard about this one.. the Blizzard offices in Irvine were evacuated..

Dammit, I needed that loot restored and the GM told me he had to leave the building!

(World of Warcraft players get tetchy when their support is interrupted by an evacuation apparently.)

Is California that bad and a high risk of a big earth quake hitting?

My own memories of a vacation over there are of San Francisco and the amount of vagrants in the area. Along with one minute walking through the Chinese area, turn the corner and you see lots of men wearing leather and almost singing Y M C A

We did all the main tourist things like Vegas, Grand Canyon, Burger King, Mc Donald's, Yosemite national park (one of my favourite parts of the trip) more Burger King, Mc Donald's, Disney, Universal etc etc

Cali has some of the most active faults in the world over land.

SF is probably the biggest area of gay people in the US, with chicago a close 2nd.

bugger king is NOT a tourist attraction. lol

It is where I live now. The last time I caught sight of a BK was driving across Spain from England to where I live now, just under two years ago.

I know where there are two, yes TWO Mc Donalds. Both about thirty minutes drive away in opposite directions, by driving at high speed down motorways

You get a three course meal including half a bottle of wine or a beer for €5.50 in your money thats about $8.57. Plus they still worship donkeys here so the burger giants would struggle to find meat to use

SF from what I remember being told at the time of the vacation was it held three main groups, biggest Chinese and Russian communities out side of their native countries and the biggest gay community in America.

Seeing a menu in Chinese in a Deny's was also strange.

Until America revoked my visa, I used to visit Florida once or twice most years. Most people would go to see that idiot mouse and the loony tunes mates he had. I would spend at least three days in Basspro.

They had a purge on Visas at one stage. Mine was in an expired passport, so they revoked it. About a year later they made it mandatory to have a visa to visit America
