This is a discussion on phpBB Ad on VBSEO Search Term within the Off-Topic & Chit Chat forums, part of the Focus on Members category; Has anyone else seen this ad?...
Has anyone else seen this ad?
Yes.There have been several past discussions on their product. Here's one: phpbb has one now too
I could care less about the product (I'll stick with vb and vbseo) but was curious about their ad on the vbseo phrase.
I guess they are just trying to show those interested in vBSEO that there is an alternative package for vBulletin/vBSEO. I suppose that they have been doing ok since the ad continues to run.
However, as our customers will tell you, it is definitely better to go with vBulletin and vBSEO for maximum forum and SEO performance.
There needs to be a counter ad campaign.
"Taking weeks to redo mods for every PHPBB upgrade?
"Tired of being hacked?"

Sounds like something our affiliates might be interested in trying out.![]()
I'd get their ads blocked
I did it with our company name:
Google Ads and Trademarks
That is a possibility. However, at this time, we do not really view it as a cause for concern.
vBSEO, being the definitive SEO enhancement for vBulletin, really has no real rival at this time. It's been a massive undertaking developed continuously for about 3 years now with a full time team.
While use of a trademark is always something you need to be aware of, a comparison of phpBB and vBulletin/vBSEO is typically going to lead a user directly to the powerful vBulletin/vBSEO combo. In that respect, the ad mentioned actually promotes vBSEO.
We're just glad that we have enjoyed the overwhelming support of the vBulletin community in helping us continually improve our SEO solution for all of your forums.
