The only way that could happen is if it is not optimized correctly. I went from a single Xeon (same specs as yours) to two dual xeon boxes.. One for Web/http and the other for databases. For the first month it was a total PITA and I couldn't see any performance gains. Finally, I got a hold of some vB guru's (MarcoH64 & Eva2000) and now my setup hums..

That being said, I am considering going to Dual Opteron servers... The smoke Xeon servers...

    Good luck on your setup.

I have the same issue, which I noticed when I went from vB3.51 to vB 3.53. IMHO vBulletin changed something in their code that vBSEO doesn't completely agree with.

It basically doubled. So traffic that produced a 1.0 load, now produces 2.0, etc.
