need advice please =] on redirection

hi, just looking for some advice please.

i just have bought a new domain and have replaced my old forum domain.

my questions are:

before i changed my domain my forum was installed with vbseo to the public_html root, no i have moved everything, files and folders into a folder "forums".
my new domain to my forums is now forums.mydomain.com
1.should i redirect my old domain to forums.mydomain.com or redirect my old domain to mydomain.com where i will be installing word press?
2. do i have to edit my .htaccess or leave as is?

if you had forums in domain root before, I'd recommend to redirect old domain to forums.mydomain.com.
You should create .htaccess file in old domain root:

hi, sorry for bumping, but how do i go about installing wordpress to root index please?
when i click mydomain.com it redirects to my forum.

not sure what to do, maybe i can redirect my addon old domain to forums.mydomain.com and not add the .htaccess you have above?
