I require the location of new registrations and that does not show in the quick register.
It takes you to the main register screen though, so no great loss yet.
Lets see how it all goes![]()

Mine I must admit, looked like you was viewing something after a few beers, a bit blurred to say the least.
The test bed being run now to see if membership increases is minimal wording above the quick register and no welcome message below it.
So far two new registrations and two new adverts posted since changing and its past midnight here.
Fingers crossed it does look promising so far. Mondays is my busy day on the forum. So Monday will be the real test day.
A quick fix for the quick register hack.
Quick Register with Human Verification. - Page 2 - vBulletin.org Forum
If you require the location field to be filled in like me.
FindIn the quick_register templatePHP Code:<if condition="$vboptions['quickregister_dob']">
And add above
Or just edit the the xml file with the above.PHP Code:Location (Town or country Where you live)
<input type="text" class="bginput" name="userfield[field2]" size="25" maxlength="50" value="$userfield[field2]" dir="ltr" style="width:70px" /><br>
Find in the xml file
FindAnd add abovePHP Code:<if condition="$vboptions['quickregister_dob']">
It dont look prity, but it works.PHP Code:Location (Town or country Where you live)
<input type="text" class="bginput" name="userfield[field2]" size="25" maxlength="50" value="$userfield[field2]" dir="ltr" style="width:70px" /><br>
It is a quick fix hashed together by myself

New members joining has almost doubled what I get on a good day in less than a day of trialling the add on
See how it goes over the next couple of weeks, because I have also altered the welcome thread post that gets made every time some one joins to encourage them to invite their friends
The welcome new member thread is an old hack off the org that I have played about with and worded it to suit my forum.
If anyone wants a copy of that, let me know and I will email it over. But you will have to make a few alterations to suit your own forum.
Second day, double the amount of members have joined.
But my hits and earnings have dropped by the looks of it from other things I have done.
Third day, new members registering is double or triple what I have been getting.
I think this mod works rather well, pity more people have not caught onto it
It also goes hand in hand with another mod that takes takes people to a log in screen if they try posting as an unregistered member.
This has got to be the best fishing tool for hooking new members in so far that I have added
Glad to see you are seeing positive results with your new mod.![]()
Since adding this, my absence earnings have dropped right off.
Less that a 1/4 of what I was earning before.
Do I move the absence above the quick register, or is it just the quick register causing the problems
absence earnings? Maybe if you showed up for class........
I think the main problem with your adsense units are that they don't remotely match or blend in to your theme.
I'd also consider getting rid of that tabbed home thing... it takes all the sub forums off your main page. Looking at the forums, looks like you just added it the other day.
I think with your amount of forums you need to concentrate them more, and make more sub forums. Moreover, you need to be more concise.
For example,
The threads in this forum with site news.

Spain Forum And Discussions
Ask questions about anything to do with Spain, or make mew friends and contacts with other expats already living in Spain.
yet, you already have
http://www.thespainforum.com/#forum-news-updates
and
http://www.thespainforum.com/life-in...-news-updates/
and
http://www.thespainforum.com/forum-f...m-suggestions/
all doing the same thing.
you can kill 4 forums and make 1 out of that.
http://www.thespainforum.com/motoring-news/
99% of these threads have 1 view. That tells you that your users aren't reading the RSS. kill it.
I'd kill your entire region by region job forums too.
http://www.thespainforum.com/#work-j...-offerd-advice
I'd set up thread prefixes, make it required, and list your regions there.
since you can search against prefixes, it will be easy to find.
There's a lot you can do to ease the clutter. I think you'll find that more than anything will help with your adsense earnings. Why? because instead of taking up 1% of your total page area, after merging, you now have 5-10% ad media exposure per page, without increasing ad counts, sizes, or anything else.
More importantly, you cleaned up your site a lot, got rid of those annoying tabs, and made things easier to find on your site.
To be 100% honest, if i lived in the area, I probably wouldn't use the site/be a member. It's annoying to use/find anything because it's not concise.
Membership was up with the quick register box. But absence was in the earnings
I have gone back to the original vb message on forum home. from tonight. I will tweak that tomorrow
Which had been replaced by welcome headers fuzzy and then replaced by quick register.
Where before the quick register was showing on every page which has now been turned off
My hits have gone up to about 350 - 400 a day at present from a few weeks ago it was about 200 - 250, after seeing a few mistakes I had made with the relevant replacements. I had the word forum being used too often in a lot of them.
3 to 400 hits a day and I have been getting 3 or 4 clicks
I will kill off the motoring section feeds and look over the other feed sections tomorrow, see what can go. There must be something else that can be killed off.
Thanks for taking the time to help again Brian
Thanks for the help on this Brian
Hits are going back up all the time since putting the forum back to the original look and not the tabbed version.
I only use the quick register on the classifieds and forum home now
And I'm kicking myself for removing the googlies from the posts. Clicks have gone up considerably since re adding them last night
hey guys congratulations i don't understand english very much but you guys are very smart![]()
