McAfee Secure - TESTED DAILY

Hi folks,

I've noticed the McAfee SECURE pic on the vBSEO forums.

Is it possible to have this for my forum, can I register for it anywhere? I've a look about the McAfee website but am unable to find anything.

I wouldn't recommend it. I ran it and came back clean. So, as long as you don't have crappy .org mods with XSS holes or sql injection, you're clean too.

I got a phone call from them yesterday and I got the impression it's not the sort of thing you can sign up for and implement yourself.

they send a robot out to your site once a day or so and try to break every form.

we run it at work for our e-stores, and it's very nice tool to have.

but, stock vb / vbseo is secure and passes. I've ran it personally.

When we signed up, it was "HackerSafe" a more recognized brand for eCommerce. I am not pleased with the acquisition and name change.

They do send you occasional notifications when something is detected. It's possible that server upgrades, moves to new servers, or OS/software changes could result in a valuable flag.

When it was HackerSafe, it also helped consumers know that that your site is one that wants to maximize their comfort and security.

There is a significant annual investment required, so for smaller sites, especially since the McAfee takeover, it is probably not going to provide an ROI for you (in my personal opinion).

Q. You mention "SEO benefits". Can you explain the SEO benefits of running the McAfee Secure certification?

Q. Were the case studies you refer to created during the HackerSafe period, or during the McAfee Secure period (which is much more recent).

Q. Has the average increase in revenue reported stayed the same, increased, or deceased since you re-branded the service? How do you conduct your surveys, i.e. those reporting revenues boosted? How many of your customers participated? How many have been surveyed since the McAfee re-branding?

Given what you have said regarding public recognition of the McAfee brand, and the cases of McAfee outperforming HackerSafe in a head to head comparison, I'll check back with you in 6-12 months for an update in the average sales increase to see if the stats move in the direction your assertions would suggest.

I used to use McAfee Secure for my website, and it would cost me around $2100 a year, but then I found another service, etrust.pro, they had a free 90 day trial and everything, now I've been using them for over a year and it is only 20 bucks a month. I would suggest etrust.pro as an alternative to McAfee.
