I finally got round to getting a phone again after all these years.
Now I get every idiot calling at silly o/clock who thinks because its a Spanish number, I speak Spanish.

Still not an essential part of my life except when I find a bar shut and have to alter my drinking hole with my friends.

Believe it or not, my one you can make telephone calls on

Blackberry Bold 9000 because everything just works right out of the box. E-mail, internet, web, etc.

Many functions and features that I love and use everyday, and not as common as the iPhone at the moment meaning it's nice to have something not every has or talks about having.

It is actually really easy to get used to. The on screen one is also really easy...I haven't had an issue with the phone at all to be honest.

Repeat Im am sad, I am sad.

Its taken me a few years to see the need in one of the devils devices again.

So I started off with a nice silver phone. A Samsung J700. Did what it was needed to do apart from work in my second office / bar I use.

I found receiving text messages, was the worst part. Nothing more annoying than getting the "where are you" type message at 4am as you getting in, when it was sent a good few hours earlier.

God knows what I have sat in front of me today. A Nokia 5530 XpressMusic, it that means anything to anyone. I think it makes phone calls, well thats what they told me in the store I purchased it from. Plus it has a touch screen, designed to be used by dwarfs with small fingers.

Yes I still hate them with a vengeance, but if I can send the "Im missing you" type message from the bar and get a few more hours drinking, it has to be put up with.

To think I used to think a ZX81 was baffling modern technology at one time.

Well after a really really long time of having a mobile that could only SMS and call I decided it was time to get a smart phone. Since I live in Australia the plans and deals on some of these phones were really not enticing me very well until this week I saw the unlimited plan on the iPhone for $99 a month with a free 32 gig 3gs it kind of stood out for me anyway. Now I have never been a mac fan and was unsure how I would go at first but I have to say WOW. I am really enjoying eveything on the iPhone. I am actually typing right now on it and having no problems at all with the touch keyboard. Websites look great with the iPhone IMO and load quick and all the features in the admincp work too. My wife has a hiptop and i used it a few times and hated the browser in it.

Just wondering tho what ssh app are any of you using on your iPhone. I noticed none are free right now which sucks lol.

I personally am amazed to see people uısing iPhone and recommending it to others. iPhone is the worst phone i've ever seen. It is a phone that doesn't allow you to run more then one application on same time etc.. It only has a nice UI thats all. All other features are decades behind of Blackberry or Pre

Well although that may be true, the upgrade for me was decades infront of my previous phone lol (and with unlimitted calls, text, mms, internet etc. for one low monthly price I was not complaining) I am still very happy with the phone, it has done everything and more that I could need.

Plus I was very happy that the internet has tabbed browsing which you can also minimize...perfect for my needs.

I'm contemplating various Droids at this point in time.
the eris, the gnexus one, the motorolo driod, etc.

but, i think i'm just going to stay with my i760 samsung on win mobile6 for now. I'm waiting on the LTE networks to start rolling out later this year.
GSM and CDMA are all old school technology at this point.

Will you ever use a computer that only allows you to run one application ?

Sorry but even they give it me free , i'll never use it at all. My wife has an iphone and it is just a toy , not a phone imo.

Not being a great mobile phone lover as some might have guessed, but I have found three things with mine.

1 You can access the internet with it, easier than a netbook or laptop

2 You can send text messages easy

3 and this is the honest truth, it took two weeks to find how to answer calls on it, even after doing the above two points easy. Trust me, calling everyone back was annoying, and my excuses started to wear thin after a while

I still hate mobile phones with a vengeance

I started with the G1, and will never go away from a droid. Just amazing IMO.

I am now on the TMobile MyTouch and it really did fill in the gaps what the G1 was missing.

TMobile service in my area is lackluster at best. i'd like to stick with verizon if possible. and i'm not paying 500+ for a phone. no way.
    200 is pushing it.
