htacces Question. Can Anyone help?

This isnt related to vbSEO but there are some real pros here and I can't solve this:

I have a site, lets call it www.mysite.com and I have a classifieds site installed in a subfolder, /classifieds.

It has an htaccess folder and I understand that the main root htaccess overides that one but I need to do this:

I would like to 301 re-direct the http://mysite.com/classifieds to www.mysite.com/classifieds but cannot figure it out

Would anyone here know how to do this?

Any help or direction would be most appreciated!

The htaccess in the /classifieds folder would actually overwrite the one in root as the server sees this one as more relevant.

You will need to set rules in the classified .htaccess file to redirect to www version see [How to] Setup www.yourdomain.com or yourdomain.com (www vs. non-www) - With .htaccess 301 redirects on how to do this.
