    Yes, raid 5 is far slower than raid 10 and raid 1.

    RAID 10 is a lot more expensive as a lot of the cheaper RAID cards don't support it. We run Drugs.com webservers on RAID 5 without a problem. DB server runs RAID 1.

    With the stuff that you're doing you're probably unlikely to see a difference. Everything should be loaded from memory where possible anyway.
