    Arrow GoDaddy Dedicated Servers

I've been searching around for a low cost dedicated server for a bunch of sites that are currently on a slower than average shared host. My budget is, well... small... <100$mo for this one...

I've been looking around for Dedicated and Virtual Dedicated hosts and see that GoDaddy has a reasonably priced dedicated hosting plan.

Anyone have any feedback, used or know anyone that uses a Dedicated GoDaddy server? (back to sifting through reviews!)

PowerVPS and InMotion are also two good vps providers to check out for under $100 per month

I would stay away from godaddy for hosting, far far away
I recommend fluidhosting, they've been great for me

Ok, needless to say godaddy's off my list now

I'm looking at stats of servers and I see that VPS usually have far better components and I'm wondering which would actually be faster, and better for me in the long run... The "Shared Virtual server" with its high end components or the entry level dedicated server..

    VPS (From ServInt)
Dual Xeon 3 GHz or Better
    8 GB Registered ECC RAM
U320 SCSI HD in Hardware RAID 10
    Dual Gigabit Network Interfaces

    Dedicated
    Celeron 2.0 GHz
    1 Gig RAM
    160 Gig HD
    10MBit Network Interface

Any thoughts? I know there are lots of variables and such too, just wondering where I would be better off.

i won't even buy a cheap laptop with a celeron proc in it.... let alone run a server on it.

    i'd go with the vps.

Ok I just signed up with the company you recommended for the vps. I am installing a script that wants the path to the binaries installed on the server for items such as FFMpeg, etc.

Do you know if that is already installed on the server...or will I have to download it and then upload the program to the server.

    I had godaddy.com before but it wouldnt let me have the path to the binaries...so I switched :}

    check your php info script.

if its not in there, you may need to re-build apache with that option, or maybe it already is, and you need to enable it in php.ini.

    I don't know.. i'm not a server guy really...
