Which is the correct way?
This is a discussion on Forum or Forums? within the Off-Topic & Chit Chat forums, part of the Focus on Members category; sitename/forum or sitename/forums FoodForums.com or FoodForum.com Which is the correct way?...
sitename/forum or sitename/forums
FoodForums.com or FoodForum.com
Which is the correct way?
Buy both. That way your covered for simple mistakes and it stops competition trying to use your name to build up their own traffic.
Its too easy to add an s or miss an s at the end of a url and end up at a competitors web site.
I prefer not to use forums at all as forums can limit you in future for growing your site.

Well I just want to know with or without the s is the correct way
Because I have a site right now with sitename/forum instead of /forums
is this fine? since I've seen alot of people call their board forums with the s
He's saying not to use it in the actual name.
So if you make it foodforums/forum(s) it's kind of redundant. Pick a name more like food then your site can grow because you can have food/forums, food/blogs and so on... so it's not foodforums/blogs? It doesn't make sense, to me at least.
i dont use forum(s) of any kind in my urls.
I know what he meant
but I already have sitename.com as my main site content but not a forum and my subdomain for my forum is sitename.com/forum
I just want an opinion should I name it /forum or the plural form /forums
and surely I wont name it foodforum/forum
![]()
do you have anything else besides a forum on it? if not, id suggest just putting the forum in root. no need for a sub-dir.
Yes unfortunately I do
so is forum/forums better or the correct way of naming a forum plural or singular
