Email to forward to your phones SMS?

I was wondering I saw on this forum site that in the options it had a section where you could put in your email address that forwards to your phone via SMS, how does this work?

How do you get emails to go to your phone via SMS? can this be done?

As well you can subscribe through SMS update in this threads tools menu??? how does this all work?

It is supposed to work in case if your mobile operator provides email-to-sms service.

I did a search for this and found a vBSEO customer listed in the top results. Thanks to our permalinks, I can also send you directly to the post that provides the email formatting example for Sprint PCS:
