Cant seem to change my avatar

I get no errors or nothing
just will not let me change it :(

Coming back to the topic, don't you see any kind of error message?, what happens when you try to change your avatar?.

Nothing its like it loaded but my old avy is still there

The problem is, our avatars are served from the CDN, so you're seeing a cached image.

the CDN hasn't refreshed yet.

hmm if thats the case Brain i changed it about a week ago and it did the same only this time around i posted about it

I believe the cdn has a 1 month cache on it.

This is certainly going to be an issue with hosting avatars on the CDN. I'll bring it to the devs attention.

Thats a long Cache hehe and ok thanks just thought there was a problem

I would think a one month cache on things like avatars and other 'user changeable' images is going to cause a lot of concern. I'd think those items should have about an hour cache time. Maybe that's not possible with a CDN?

You can set anytime for a Cache on CDN well i can on my CDN

maxcdn has 1 basic cache time setting for everything.

The real fix will come via the pull zone and setting up proper directory cache time stuff there, and not using the cdn's catch-all.

ie, we set up
something like

http://cdn-source.vbseo.com

which loads /home/site/public_html/ just the same

but in httpd.conf, we set the proper cache times.

The biggest issue is that avatars are served as a standard gif
/avatars/vodkaholic-18309.gif?dateline=1296782674
for example
so, setting a cache of 1 hour to gif will ruin it for ALL gifs.

Override Cache-Control Header will need to be set to no, and the default should be at 1 month to actually have a useful leverage cache.
