I was considering purchasing a mac and went to apple store to check the options. They all look great however prices are crazy expensive. For those prices i can build great custom build pc. Thats why i still find mac useless.

I partly agree Mert, if you're looking for the best price vs specs then it's best to built your own pc. I do not need the best specs at the lowest price, but I love just about everything else in a mac. I've used Windows on self-made PC's for over ten years and I was just like you when looking at macs and their price card. But you really can't understand what the difference is until you tried both a few months. The quality that goes in those machines is just incredible. They are much more innovative especially the Macbook Pro's (I have the 15"). But the best thing about them really is the software. Once you're used to using OS X and mac apps you never want anything else and you will ask yourself why you didn't start using it earlier

IMO: if you're a gamer and DIY'r , buy a pc with the best possible configuration for your budget. But if you want a great computer that is easy to use, that is very secure and stable, with the option to use windows on it for games, buy a mac. It really is one of the best buys I've ever made.

If you are married and have kids , you can't spare time for playing games. I work with my computer thats why i always use desktop. I think at first i may give a try to Macbook Pro just to check the difference as it is way cheaper compared to Mac Pro .

I know mac can look very expensive, but they are a good run there are macs and macbooks since 2002 and still working with the final OS, even older computers.

and they are good for 2nd hand selling people tend to buy them.

I love my MAC.

we have a mac in the house, it's nice
and we have 2 iphones too
it does the job, but so does my pc
nothing special about it IMO

I especially love the fact that I no longer have to worry about virusses, malware, browser hijacks, blue screens of death, bad software, OS leaks, hard to use software (including Windows), and an ugly tower/wires on my desk or floor.

I don't remember last time i had virus on my pc or had blue screen or any other problems people claim they face with windows. Thats why i never understand why people hate windows that much.

You are right, they are not completely immume anymore. BUT, the chance that a mac will get infected is simply very small in comparison with Windows. I also believe that ATM there are no known virusses that can intrude (with the latest patches applied). But I do have ClamXav running every week just to be extra safe. I also have the firewall running and I'm using every other possible safety measure.

That is possible. However you are with the minority I'm sure.

I'm in that minority, too.

Haven't had a chance to reformat or reinstall since 2006.
