Hello all,
I own a tech support site, where we offer free computer help & support for all. Now, when do you think it is a good time to introduce ads, and allow members to donate? My forum has been running vB since December.

I don't take donations. I think running a profitable enterprise and taking donations is pretty unethical.
as for ads... start small. one here or there. don't go crazy.
Well, for take donations it really depends on your website. As mine being a tech support site, offering free computer help & support, then I feel it is fair to ask for donations, as it can be pretty expensive to pay everything on your own.
I may introduce some ads in a few weeks, maybe one or two. Got any suggestions for ad companys, can't use google Adsense, as I had my account disabled due to invalid clicks (don't know how).

sign up for CJ.com, and get some niche CPA ads
Thanks for that, I'll sign up with them tomorrow.
How do they Pay?

I've always had the thinking that if you know you're going to put advertisements on your website, its best to do it from the very start. Even though you'll earn little to nothing, the members will know they are there, and you wont have to worry about a revolt over adding some 3rd party ads!
Yes, I agree.
Care to recommend any other companys for publishing ads?

Hi briansol,
Out of the list of ad companys you gave me, which would you say are the most reputable and decent ones, apart from GoogleAdsense?
Regards Jason![]()
Anyone? I want to try and find a decent ad company, that is reputable and doesn't require many pvpm ect...since my forum is still pretty new.
Regards Jason![]()
Wow - what a huge list.We may run a research project in the near future to identify the most popular ad networks used by forum admins.
I concur.
But Joe, is there any there that you would say are worth going with?
