    Adding Advertising to Site

    Hi,

I appreciate this is a bit off topic and not relevant to VBSeo but you guys seem very knowledgeable. Does anyone know what advertising add-on www uk-muscle co uk is using on their site as I am looking to implement something similar. Is it the banner rotating system on vbulletin.org?

Would really appreciate any opinions as I'm struggling to see how the ads are being placed under each individual sub forum.

    Thanks

Thanks for the reply, appreciate it. Would yourself or anyone else on this site be interested in setting up a similar system for me within the next week? If so please send me a PM. I hope that's allowed. If not please let me know and I'll edit my post.

    Cheers.

Google Adsense is the best option at the moment , but there is also so much similar Ads websites out there on the internet.

at the moment I am using Adsense and metanetwork.com ads, but Adsense is so much better.

I think it would be better if you ask such question in this forum : Monetizing - Ad Networks at vBSEO.com

    Regards.

I've got paid advertisers so not too concerned about AdSense, just need a way of adding them using the DFP system and I haven't got any experience with it so that's why I was hoping there might be a coder that wanted a job but no problem if not, I can give it a go!

I was wondering if there is a way to only add certain advertisements to specific categories. For instance, when I create a financial news category, I only want to include an affiliate banner ad link from Bloomberg and only have that ad in the financial news category. Is this possible?

As Brian Said I think DFP is the best way but there is also some Plugins for this issue, please tell what is your vb version ?

Google still haven't got back to me about DFP so having to look for another system. Do you have any ideas? Someone mentioned Open X but I don't know how hard it is to setup?

    Thanks.

In order to sign up to DFP you need to register for AdSense (AFAIK) and the AdSense application is holding it up. Almost a month now.

I think you just need a 'google account' which can be anything from gmail, etc.

It's been ages since i've signed up for adsense (2005?) so I'm not sure what they are doing now. I wasn't aware of account approval.

Looking at the link you posted - https://services.google.com/fb/forms/dfpsbsignupen/ it says you need an adsense account. It's really frustrating as I have advertisers that have paid for advertising and need to be set up within 48 hours but not sure what system to use. Open X looks more complicated but looks like I might have to go down that route. Or I suppose manually add a basic bit of html to the website as a temporary thing...

openX is about the same 'hard' to set up. DFP is frankly a little bit more confusing to set up.

There's a couple 'banner rotator' mods on .org that may buy you time.
