Here's my dilemma. I like the idea of having on software suite power both the CMS and Forums. In my case, forums have been the main driver for my site, but I also do very well with SEO pages created in Joomla. As example, I've ranked high for specific terms, when creating pages for them. Ie. Ranking high for term 'blue widgets' when I have a page www.mysite.com/blue-widgets.
If I migrate my site to vB4 CMS, I can of course set up a 301 redirect to the new page. However, the new page will carry an item ID#. So the resulting URL will be www.mysite.com/blue-widgets-id#/
My question for the experts at vBSEO --- if I do a 301 redirect from /blue-widgets/ to /blue-widgets-id#/, what are the odds that I'll lose my SERP's?
I was thinking of supporting the move with adding a few links to the new pages --
Thoughts? Advice?
