I see that you are keeping your template simple, like a SlashDot approach. That's good. You might want to clean up your logo a bit though and soften the blue color that you are using for your background (for better aesthetics & to reduce eye strain).

I also recommend that you implement the following tip:

I hope it's ok for a member to give recommendations?

I'm in complete agreement with Joe. The blue needs to be softened. In fact, if you intend to retain the default vBulletin style, you need to tweak the color, not only of your background, but the header as well, to match the forum colors more. Right now it looks all "helter-skelter" with nothing coordinating at all.

I see that you have the sub forum hack installed. Good for you! I love that hack when there are alot of subs and you do have a number of them. One suggestion.... Since your subforum names are a bit lengthy, they are breaking into a second line, throwing the formatting of the hack off a bit. My suggestion would be to change the setting of the hack to two (2) columns rather than 3. This gives the subforum titles a chance to spread out and not double up, thus looking mucho more organized.

    Good luck!

Nice start. Maybe you were playing with things when I went but clicking on any of the forums failed to load a page.

Until then, there is a spelling error - "Resources" - that you may want to fix.
