    I totally agree with Marvin,

Personally I learned so much from Marvin, he is a very helpful guy and his decisions about his website is great.

I believe the forum owners who wanna have a website with a great look, they should separate the skin for guests and the skin for registered members.
for guests we should decrease the number of images etc...

Finally, for the first time, the graph dropped below the 1 second level. :-)

Because the load speed is fast now, I think I can afford to implement a change which will slow it down a bit, but it may help improve SERP ranking. :-)

I changed the pagination. I used to have 15 posts per thread page (the maximum displayed posts before page split), and I increased it to 100 posts per page for now. I'm hoping search engines will rank pages better if they contain more text. This change also reduces the number of URLs on my site by approximately 20%, which I'm hoping may also be beneficial for two reasons: 1) improved Google PR distribution, and 2) reduction of number of pages with identical <h1> tags (duplicate content?).

I also think this change may improve the user experience, as people will be able to read more of the discussion (in most cases they will be able to read the entire thread) without having to click a link to get to the next page.

I also increased the number of threads per forum page from 50 to 200.

I'm now also hiding, from the view of guests, on forum pages, pagination links (if the thread still has any), so for example instead of:

    Some thread name 1 2 3 4 5 ... 21

    guests see only:

    Some thread name

The above reduces the number of links per forum page (which is I think good), and it also links only to the first (main) page of the thread (without wasting link juice on the less important pages 2, 3, 4, etc). Pagination links in threads remain, so guests can still move between pages.

Has anyone experimented with pagination? Could this possibly lead to real improvements SEO-wise?
