Tell me all that's bad!

Please have a look at my site www.symptome.ch and tell me which things could be done better.

- I just submit my sitemap to google (and don't know how and where to send too)
- I use some nofollows where I'm not sure, if thei're good
- I've got no pagerank on threads
- 70% leaving on first page
- 70% leaving in the first 10 seconds
- ...

Given I only read English and Chinese, I'll comment where I can.

First off, I like the header work you did.

I notice you are running a wiki. What wiki software is that and is it single sign on with your VB installation? (if so how?)

That being said..

1) The red box around registration is a turn off for me and is not a call to action IMO. I think you would be better served with a welcome header mod

2) You have a LOT going on in regards to the number of Forums on your site. I might suggest recent/popular/news type blocks to give folks more of an idea of the content?

3) Are you running a sitemap? I couldn't find one.. Would suggest installing the sitemap plugin available here

I would work on your template. I think it's too basic, and it could be what is causing your high (70%) bounce rate, at least contributing to it at some %-age.

I run vbwiki and it's single sign on ... but at this point not supported anymore. That can change in the near future but I wouldn't count on it at this time.

1) The red box isn't really beautiful. I took it away now. The welcome headers are there and it says something about registration. But I would rather place a big rectangular with some infos to the site on the right hand side (with registration link also) and google adsense on the left hand side. Any link where to copy that easily?

2) Can you show me, what you mean with that?

3) Yes, I'm running the sitemap from vbseo but just for google. What shall I do?

I think a custom template that has more color might be a good idea. Perhaps a new logo as well, but I actually do not know what your forum is about, so your logo may be appropriate.

The forum is about health and the possible reasons for bad health

Ok - well, I do not understand German, so I'm sure it would be obvious to German speakers.

However, I can tell you that when I visited your site it did not give me any indication that it was medical/health related.

Imagine your site had no words at all. And you could communicate only with your template. What would you want that template to say?

I reviewed an epilepsy forum today. Their forum has a great medical vibe. Perhaps you can get some ideas:
