    Smile Review for patientenfragen.net

    Hi

    I have a German forum for medical patients to talk about medical and non medical topics.

    The forum runs since 2006/05/05

    Since nearly 4 years now I am trying to optimize my forum for
    a) my users (frontend) and b) traffic and the money that comes with it (backend).

    I worked hard on my forum as well as on optimizing SEO.

    I really would like to get some opinions on my forum and constructive criticism how to improve a) or b)

    Have a look:
    Patientenfragen.net - wir haben die Antworten (German Version)
    Patientenfragen.net - we have the answers (English Version)

    You can find a long term case study here on how my traffic evolved:
    Patientenfragen.net - vBSEO Case Study

    Give it a shot! I am looking forward to some cool ideas

    Hello,

    The biggest thing that stands out on the English site is that the welcome header is still in German.

    You have no meta keywords on any showthread pages. Check your template. This might be mod-related as well.

    Turn off "view template names in html" when you're not working on the site.

    You have 3 base href's....
    Code:
    <base href="http://www.patientenfragen.net/" />
    <base href="http://www.patientenfragen.net/en/" /><!--[if IE]></base><![endif]--><base href="http://www.patientenfragen.net/" />
    The inner one is vbseo, and is correct.
    Code:
    <base href="http://www.patientenfragen.net/en/" /><!--[if IE]></base><![endif]-->
    Whatever is adding the other 2 is invalid and needs to be removed.

    Hi

    Thank you for your tips.

    Template names are turned off.
    Meta Keywords should be on now.

    The German Welcome message is a problem, that I am currently try to solve.
    But therefor I need conditions to work on notices. I'll see, what I can do.

    But where did you get the base hrefs?
    Can't find them anywhere in the code?

    There are two urls that point to my forum:

    http://www.patientenfragen.net/ for the german forum (the original)
    and
    http://www.patientenfragen.net/en/ for the translated English Version of my Forum.
    It is translated via Google Translator automatically.

    Depending on your browser language (or the choice of language by clicking the flag) you see the forum either in German or English

    But maybe I misunderstood you

    The missing keywords and the base urls are a bug in the vBEnterpriseTranslator plugin.
    Made a bug report, should be fixed soon.

    Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

    Hi

    I use vBSEO Relevant Replacements. Which format do you mean? I don't get what is wrong with mine?
    I don't use vBSEO Signature at the moment.

    About the sitemap.
    Why only those two and not the member profiles, posts, poll results, social groups, etc?
    I saw you giving this advice to many people however I can't find a single seo discussion here
    that discusses the issue of what to include in your sitemap.

    Thanks

    What about the RR Format? I still don't get it.
    It is exactly like I use it. The only difference is, that I put it in a table.
    Can you please elaborate thanks
    (just in case, the English version is an automated google translation of my German text)

    Looking forward to your article
