You repeat "Have your say..." quite a lot in your forum descriptions. It might be better to add some more detail for these forum descriptions, including some stuff that might have relevant keywords that would be of benefit to you.

The skin looks nice, but is a little graphically intensive.

Your logo looks nice as well, but is a little understated, maybe just too small. In general, your site is kind of "muted". It's look does not communicate the excitement and enthusiasm that seems to be synonymous with football/soccer.

Hey Sam,

Some of my suggestions follow:

• Make guest header an image ([HOW-TO] Make your Welcome Headers an image!)
• Some forums could use a more descriptive description. Example is: This is the place to discuss Beijing 2008. Discuss what about Beijing? What the weather is like, etc.
• When reading a thread, the color of the font is extremely light. Very hard to read.
• I would rename your board title. It is extremely long. Maybe take your URL out of it.

Remember this is constructive criticism .

Thanks for your suggestions. I have effected the changes you suggested except making the guest header an image. As i do not know how to change that myself, i have requested that to be done for me.


When i checked the site out on google, my site - www.completefootballforum.com is more than 6 - 8 pages away. Is there a way i can improve this? Is there anything else i can do to draw more people to the site?

You have good forum names. I did not read all of your descriptions, but they are sufficient in length. Just make sure you evaluate them for opportunities to get other related football terms in there (but only where it reads naturally and makes sense - not just keyword stuffing).

I would recommend replacing your showpost links (on the thread pages) with the permalinks option. This is a vBSEO option from within the cpanel (vbseocp.php).

You have a relatively low # of threads/posts right now, so it's clear you have a new forum.

What I recommend is that you get busy with creating new content, and establishing links to your site where possible.

One way I recommend to get started with content is to build a big list of keywords that are related to your niche. You can do so with tools like WordTracker, etc.

You provide some terms and they make suggestions. From the suggestions, pick those that are related that you would like to create content for.

Don't be afraid to pick specific multi-word search phrases. You will do very well with these.

Once you have the select, select some that you can actually create a meaningful thread/discussion about. Try to include the multi-word search phrases into the thread title.

This should help you develop content that will eventually start delivering you traffic.

With traffic, your user base will grow and you can expect them to start contributing more user generated content that will help you harvest more and more traffic from the search engines.

It's a very powerful cycle. The more and better content you create, along with more link building you do, will decide how quickly you accelerate to success with your forum. vBSEO takes care of your SEO, but you can help speed things up by doing the aforementioned.
