Please critique I am loosing uniques.

Greetings fellow VBSEO'ers,

Please critique Club Penguin Cheats, secrets, tips, tricks and more. I have made a few changes recently and I have been loosing rank and indexed pages. I have recently seen a drop in traffic and ultimately revenue over the last couple months and I am sure it is due to trying to tweak things to improve ranking which seems to be affecting me negitavely instead.

Here is what I have been up to:

Jan 5th - Moved site to a new VPS server and suffered a few days downtime.

Mid Jan - Implimented many of these changes Briansol's Ultimate Guide to vBSEO
**Indexed pages went from 210k to only 60k, I am sure this is due to my ignorance in making these changes when the forum is already established**

Recently - I have been messing with different vba modules and the site title.

Thankfully, I have been monitoring the search long tail and it seems to be holding up (about 35,000 over 1 month google.

Your thoughts and critiques are greatly appreciated.

• Your site looks great. One the most nicely integrated headers I have seen in quite some time.
• Is there a fee to remove the Mished.co.uk credit at the bottom?
• Are you getting much traffic for the terms in your tag cloud on your main page? Are you getting many hits to your tag pages? If not, I would either reduce the # of tags in the cloud, or get rid of the cloud itself (on the homepage).
• I think you probably have too many links on your homepage. You have the cheats, rockhopper, and DS cheats sections. Maybe you can do a little customizing and get rid of the "Forum" column, so that you get rid of those redundant links. Each section links to the *same* forum multiple times.
• I would remove the calendar for guests.
• I would remove the FAQ, Members List, Calendar from your top nav bar (for guests).
• I would remove the redundant login box on your homepage.
• In your recent CP cheats, I would also get rid of the forum link. In fact, I would probably clean it up a lot, leaving just the title and maybe the last post date.
• Your site seems to be loading slowly for me.
• I would use conditionals to hide the username links for the members online in the last 24 hours for guests on your forum homepage.
• In the top 5 stats, I think the part that is most valuable is the "Most Viewed Threads". I definitely would get rid of the Newest Members (for guests) and probably the latest Posts, because they'll already be linked to above.
• I would like to see a better (customized) welcome message that spends more time introducing your site, and gets rid of the FAQ link.
• I recommend getting rid of your forum title from the TITLE part of each of your sub-forum display pages.
• I would also *definitely* get rid of your forum title in the TITLE part of your thread pages. This is most likely impacting your long tail SEO negatively. Your title is very long and keyword loaded which means that many of your thread titles will have only about 25% share of the title keywords, and not enough to really dominate the relevance.
• Don't include your sub-forum description at the top of your thread pages. With your forum TITLE in the title part and the sub-forum description at the top of every thread page, you are making your pages seem very non-unique to a bot.
• You are not running any H1 tags on your thread pages. You should setup our Relevant Replacements and use H1s inside of them to better optimize your thread pages.
• By the way, the loss in indexed pages was probably because you got rid of your showpost pages. This is a good thing.
• Your page appears to be loading slow because of some content you are pulling from conduit.com.

I would start with removing the forum title from the TITLE part of your (a) sub-forum pages & thread pages, adding H1s with Relevant Replacements, and removing your sub-forum descriptions from the top of the thread pages.

Alright I think I am making progess however the site looks like a HOT mess :(

I made many changes you suggested, however I need help implimenting these few additional changes you recommended.

Don't include your sub-forum description at the top of your thread pages. With your forum TITLE in the title part and the sub-forum description at the top of every thread page, you are making your pages seem very non-unique to a bot.
