Validation can be tricky to troubleshoot sometimes. Unfortunately, at this time, we do not provide direct support for it.
I would recommend contacting a freelancer who has experience achieving validation.
When in doubt, choose validation... unless that option is not available to you.
The reality is, in most cases, you can get away it without much negative impact, but this depends on the types of errors that occur.
We know that in the future search engines will not doing anything negatively to a "correctly coded" page. But we cannot be certain they will not add something to their algorithm to diminish non-validated pages.
