    Grand Prix Forums

My newest forum. 4 days up and 146 users so far. Maybe I am onto something with this one.

Any pointers other than making the guest message an image?

I see that you are using our template. It looks good. I wasn't sure about the pastel blue at first, but I think it works.

You seem to have taken all the right steps. I see that your welcome headers are converted to an image, and you have relevant replacements in place.

I think you should add some descriptions for your forums too.

You might want to add a link directly to your forum in the upper righthand nav area. I was looking for the forum link and it took me 5 seconds to find it. Not good enough in web time.

Thanks, Yea i was not to sure about the color combo i choose. Wanted something thats different and stands out. I thought about making it more of a standard blue. Yea, i decided to use the vbso release vers the pre release i helped rob with. I played with the code so much on my personal one its a nightmare to upgrade vb. So i wanted this for easy upgrades.

Yea, i do need some forum descriptions.

    Good idea.

I also know my sites not validating. Its got errors in the footer file but its default and i know it validated default so its something up top i messed up on ;(

How did you get all the early users? From search engine traffic?

I'd probably stick to colors that are taken from popular car tones, but what you have does look ok.

Vbseo, is what is reeling in all the users now. The first few people broke off another forum. So that helped get some post and content up and rdy for google. GPF got listed in google on 4th day of the site being active. Which i find pretty impressive. I have had sites that took weeks to get 1 listing in the sandbox. I just blew right over that. As of this post i have 547 members and the site has been up aprox 6 weeks. I am sure this will grow once i get more content and pr. Some things just take time. But 12 new users a day is more than i expected.

Good chunk of the users are search engine traffic now. I get people on the site for all sorts grand prix related searches. Which is good considering there is another grand prix site thats 7-8 year old and very active forum.

This software made such a huge increase in my other forum. I knew i should start off with vbseo. Not much longer and i will out grow my vps :(

That sounds tremendous! You're definitely tapping into the long tail search spectrum for your niche.

Looks good, but one thing (from a style perspective anyhow) that I don't particularly care for is your forum statusicons. The globe with the lock circle looks more on the tech side of things, and a little out of place on an automotive forum.

Cool. Let us know when it's up so we can take a look at the new skin.

Ok, new skin is up. Yes its still vbseo skin, just with some flair and green. Probley going to make a simlar one for red or some other color. I think most people don't like green. I just not sure what i want. I just want people to not feel like ever other fourm.
