You're asking for trouble with that CNN feed.

    Use of RSS Feeds:
RSS is a free service offered by CNN for non-commercial use. Any other uses, including without limitation the incorporation of advertising into or the placement of advertising associated with or targeted towards the RSS Content, are strictly prohibited. You must use the RSS feeds as provided by CNN, and you may not edit or modify the text, content or links supplied by CNN. For web posting, reprint, transcript or licensing requests for CNN material, please send your request to licensing.agent@turner.com.
CNN.com - RSS (Really Simple Syndication)

you have ads on your site, and thus pretty much violate their terms in their entirety. Kill it or get a good lawyer.

    Look and feel:
everything is all mushed together. No padding anywhere. I find it hard to use, and especially on the navigation menu where I have to place my mouse ever so perfect as to not click an ad. Sure, it may help your CTR, but it also pisses off your membership. I wouldn't stay an active member there. it looks like you're in it for the money, not the discussion. While I understand it's about the money in the long run, the community is much more important for the short term.

Interesting how his decision not to pad cells was linked to his monetary expectations :d

Ok no seriously.. I felt the same about the padding, I'd fix that.

You also have a www-non-www issue which you need to correct (search these forums for www-non-www).

I completely forgot about that. I will remove that asap when I get home from work.

I've noticed quite a bit of forums that have a good amount of padding. I just thought making it more condensed might make it less of a hasle to navigate (not having to scroll down more..) I don't know, it was just a look that I felt went well with the site. Any other opinions?? I can quickly increase the padding if you all feel that it would make it looks better. As for the Google Adsense Ad, I just recently added those to give me a little extra cash to help pay for the hosting/vB/vBSeo,software, etc. I am also a Junior in college and it's not cheap.

I can see why you would say that I would be in it for the money, but i'm not. Many of my goals have been accomplished with the many great members I have, and great discussions. My MAIN GOAL is a successful forum where people would come to for a good debate. Again the Google ads are only there to help pay for the additional features I throw into the site. Maybe it's the placement I need more work on...

Thank you for the comments. When I get home from work today (which is in another 5 hours) I will work on the AdSense and padding.

I've been using the MSN feed lately and it doesn't say anything about not being allowed to display advertisements. However, the CNN feed was much better than the MSN feed. Since i have the Google code on every forumdisplay and threadisplay page, is there any way I can disable the Ad from displaying in a specific forum?? Probably not...but worth a shot to ask.
