Brian, if you type www.familybunker.com you are taken to my cpanel login page. how do i make sure that who so ever types this, should be taken to my CMS page and not the cpanel page?
you have been the only one helping me out so far and i really appreciate this. i am in a pickle and am really appreciating all the help i am getting from here.
thank you again
Did you delete your index.php file?

i have only deleted the index.php file of the vba cmps and not deleted any other index file
ok brian the problem is solved. apparently i had no index file in the public html folder and this is what was driving me crazy. i finally realized.
thanks a bunch.
now that the upgrade has been completed, please do me a favor, now check my site for SEO optimizationi have not added any mods that would put links on forum main page. and i think i will not add. the footer stuff has been taken care of. so now that i am upgraded, i would like to work on the SEO part
thank you for all the help
no marco, if the original critique with 3.8.4 version still stands then i can start working on that.
its just that Brian said, the validation of html codes should be taken care of during the upgrade and wont be a problem. so i just wanted to know what should be my priorities now that i have vb4 up and running
so if the contents of post 5 are still valid, then i will start working on them
thanks
No not all of them will work. I will try to re-write all of the first 5 posts to vb4
- That's the new code to hide X from guests and view them to members :
HTML Code:<vb:if condition="$show['member']">Your Code here</vb:if>- Don't install vBSEO Conditional Signature it's not compatible with vBulletin 4
- Disable archive footer links that's from your vBSEO Cp
- Disable Archive : Follow The old guide that's also will work with vB4
- Validate your style : [Invalid] Markup Validation of http://www.familybunker.com/forums/namaz-al-salaat/2528-faraz-namaz-k-bad-jaga-badalny-ka-hukam.html - W3C Markup Validator
- Remove the PR Box....etc from your footer or use them with "if member" condition. "By using the code above"
Remember when you trying to make your forum optimized with search engines you need first to make your page load short as you can, In your forum in 4mb connection it's takes 18 sec, In my forum 4 sec. So remove anything you are think that's not important if the guests see this and show it only for members.
thank you so much marco, i shall start working on these pointers from you.
thank you again
You are welcome Nadeem.
