    Critique Please

Hey everyone I was wondering if you guys could do a quick critique of my new forum. It's about 15 days old, and I'm always open for suggestion.

During the next couple months, I'm looking to get a coder to do a nice skin for me.

    Here is the site.
It may be best to not listen to anything I say for advice. :spin:

    Hi Josh,

First impressions: Woah! So very pink! I imagine that's a good colour for your target audience though.

You do have a lot of forums, something I generally try to stear clear of, to avoid the 'ghost-town' look, but yours have a decent amount of activity, a good amount for a forum under a month old.

One suggestion you might want to look at - have a non-pink style option for your Men's Section.

Thanks Ace, I'm actually in the process of hiring a designer to do some coding. I'm going for a web 2.0 look. With yes a lot less pink.

The forum became a hit so quickly that I had to change it from the standard blue.

    The most important suggestion is:

Get rid of most of your forums and start with a maximum of 10-15 Forums.

This is the biggest mistake new forum starters make.
A forum with a lot of subforums looks empty for a very long time.
Empty forums discourage users from registering and becoming active members in your community.

You could also think about installing my hack: Remove statistic information to increase registrations

    Good luck

Too many pastel colours for my liking. Eventually I'd have to wear shades.

Imho fashionspot.com has it spot on.

Members: 250 -> that will grow, but this -> Threads: 2,327, Posts: 43,844, WOW, that is a lot for such a short time.

Are you doing most of the posting? are you using feeds? because that is about a 1000 posts a day for such a new forum, that is good!

I'm not manipulating any stats what so ever. I"m not doing the majority of the posting either. I was lucky enough where I'm really listening to members feed back and giving them pretty much what they have been asking. No feeds or any sort all orgional content.

Update guys, here is how things are going. I feel that it's off to a very strong start. I want to begin to track my progress on here but I'm not sure what I should post so everyone can see the progress vbseo is having on my forum

I don't like seeing this at the top of every page. Could you try some other kind of registration nag, or convert this to an image?

Unregistered, you have no posts yet.
Your template is organized. Maybe it would be better (given the niche) is it was more colorful, with (perhaps) some photos at the top in the header area, and something to replace the gray background?
