I am a little concerned with a test I ran the other day. Here is the example...

I posted up a tutorial article on my site and another site at the same time. I entered the title of the thread into the search engines such as Google and Yahoo. The next day the thread showed up on the top of the list for the other website, yet mine is nowhere to be found. I dig for pages and pages but can't locate it unless i put my website title after the keywords in the search engine.

I am curious on why this is happening and how to fix this. It also gets me thinking what else i am doing wrong or what i can do to improve the efficiency of vbSEO.

I see that you have created a nice community and that you are really addicted to the topic of your forum! Congrats!

Regarding the test you did. The other site is probably more popular, larger, older, and/or better linked. I wouldn't overly worry about, just keep on creating valuable content, just like the tutorial you linked to, and the results will improve.

Regarding some optimization ideas. The thread you linked to is, I'm sure, a tutorial which will help people, and it will become one of your valuable pages. It would be worthwhile to optimize it for speed. It is almost 8MB(!) in size. Open the photos in your favorite photo editing software, and re-save them with the highest compression at which the photo quality is still satisfactory. Look for "Export for web" function in your graphics software, select JPG file format, and try 50% (or even higher) compression. Also, reduce the size of the images from the original 800 x 600 pixels down to something you can still live with, such as 550 x 413 pixels.
