    Critique and help needed please.

    Hi Guys,

I'm extremely frustrated with the google shenanigans on my site at the moment.

I have a Joomla front end with sef404 and Vbulletin 3.7.4 with VBSEO 3.2.

A while ago, I bought a domain name to use as a google ads site as it is a really good one (core-i7 dot net), so I put my google ads on there as well as on my main site and after about 5 days, I got an email from google saying that I was a threat to other users and that my adsense account had been closed! I can say now, hand on heart that there is nothing illegal, underhand or anything bad on my site front end or forums.

Nobody had been purposely clicking the ads, and I believe that this kind of thing gets a different email, I did some googling and found some examples - anyway, I had no reply email address, so couldn't do anything about that.

Then not long after, I noticed that certain threads and articles were being crawled, but not appearing as searchable results, sometimes for up to six weeks :(

Is my site being penalised? I stumbled on an article that says that google frowns upon people that own a domain name that is the same as one of their most popular keywords on their other sites - is this correct?

My site gets it's traffic from reviews, now the flavour of the month, and possibly for the next year or two is going to be Intel's Core i7 stuff, but as soon as I do any kind of content with Core i7 in it, it gets indexed, but doesn't appear as searchable results.

I have posted two articles this week that feature the phrase Core i7 and both have gone awol - I really need the traffic, but how can I get round this? I need to use the keyword, but I can't because google doesn't like me using it.

Here's what Ive done so far.

Removed the core-i7 site from my webmaster tools, removed all the content from it and now it's just an empty site with nothing at all.

Removed the core-i7 from my meta descriptions on the Joomla site and Vbulletin.

We've done a test post without the keyword core i7 and that arrived as the second from top result within a few hours.

Does anyone know how we can fix this please? Apologies for the long post, it's a bit of a pig to explain.

    Site is here.

P.S. I know we have 10x XHTML errors on the front end, It's from the flash banner code. The banners are being replaced by GIF images this week.

    Thanks

    Dave

    It could be...

MFA (made for adsense ) sites get banned pretty quick from the SERPs.

    If I were you,
I'd remove the core domain from the everything 'google' that you use.
Additionally, I would put it on it's own IP on your server. Buy a new one if you have too. it's usually $5 or so.
do everything you can to separate the two sites. Don't even use the same as account on both.

they probably labeled you as malicious or something to that effect. Clean it up, and then do a re-inclusion request.

    Hi Brian,

That looks interesting. On that page you linked to, it mentions "hidden text that your webmaster put there", how can I check for hidden text?

I've only let one guy loose on my site and that was a Joomla plugin that I bought that turned out to be a

I have removed the core i7 site from the webmaster tools, that's the only thing it was in as far as google things go.

It was also on it's own shared hosting server, so no problems there then?

    Thanks

    Dave

Edit: Forgot to say that someone had exactly the same idea with core-i7.com and theirs is still up and running with adsense ads on. bah.
