Advice required please

Hi there all,

I would really like one of the experts here to cast their eye over my forum (VbSEO enabled) and give me some form of critique. I would like to know how I can raise the keyword values in SERPS amongst other things. Also I need to know if I am employing all that VbSEO has to its full potential...I fear not currently.

Monthly hits: ave. 5 million

How has your traffic improved since installing vBSEO?

I like the option of replacing the showpost link with the permalink. Do your stats show you getting much traffic to your showpost pages now? If not, replace them with the permalink and improve your crawling efficiency.

Thank you. My team work really hard on the site and we are seeing fantastic results this year.

It's actually difficult to say. I installed vBSEO almost as soon as I moved to VBulletin so I wouldn't really know life without it

Can you explain this in a bit more detail. I am a Techie first and foremost...my SEO skills are developing and improving.

The "replace showpost with permalink" is a vBSEO option available in the control panel (vbseocp.php).

On each thread page, there is typically a "showpost" link provided which, when clicked, will display each post individually.

I prefer to get rid of this link, replacing it instead with a permalink. A permalink is a *consistent URL* that all users should use when linking to the page, or a particular post within the page. We promote the permalink to ensure that we build "link consensus" to your thread page, instead of having all that link value and consensus be directed to less valuable pages... in particular, show post pages.

I encourage enabling this option to improve crawling efficiency, boost link value and consensus, and generally improve search engine friendliness for your site overall.
