Yahoo siteexplorer supports only 10,000 URLs pr urllist file...

I was browsing through the site explorer forum and found this post by mr.slurp (Yahoo) there:
We support upto 10000 URLs in the urllist file. The limitation is more due to file download limits. If you have short URLs, you could put more in one file, and we might be able to get to them, but we work hard for upto 10000.
So it looks like the urllist files generated by vBSEO sitemaps are pretty useless now, at least for larger forums.. :(

Any plans to split the urllist files as well in future versions (like the google maps)???

That is interesting, probably we'll have to split Yahoo sitemap as well, although it will mean that every sitemap part will have to be manually submitten.

But does Yahoo accept other filenames than urllist.txt(.gz) ??
According to their own info they don't, so calling them urllist1.txt urllist2.txt etc. would probably not work then....??

Well, I don't know whether there is an official word from Yahoo on this.

That looks pretty official to me. Any idea yet whether the yahoo file generation will be altered to keep Yahoo happy with our sitemaps?

I just manually split my main urllist.txt.gz file into 13 files with 9999 urls each and submitted them on siteexplorer. If I see any change in behavior from Yahoo I'll report back.

Nevermind...the fact that it has to be named urllist.txt(.gz) means I'd have to break them up into multiple folders and change my rewrite for the sitemap files. Considering how little attention I get from Yahoo, it's not even worth the effort.
