    Yahoo is not downloading sitemap

    Hi,

Yahoo has not downloaded the sitemap since March 6. First day visits from Yahoo where 4,400+. Every day they have been less and less where yesterday I had only 2,300+.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks.

Same issue here. I wonder if this is the issue:

    It appears the name "sitemap_index.xml.gz"
    is not compatible.

Yahoo has all but forgotten my site. :(

    Hello Alan,

vBSEO Sitemap Generator generates two different sitemaps at the same time - on is txt.gz for Yahoo and another xml.gz for Google.

    ...mysite.com/urllist.txt.gz produces 404 error.

    Am I reading this wrong?

I created a ln -s from sitemap.txt.gz to urllist.txt.gz in the data directory and it appears to work ok now.
Yahoo has yet to d/l it though.

The "urllist" is just their example filename. It can be any filename.

It will only download it after you submit it, and not always immediately. It will when it gets around to it. It's not an automated pull like Google. If you want it to continue to be downloaded, you have to continue to submit it.

    10:38 urllist.txt.gz Yahoo
    Heads up:
It is downloading for me now with "urllist.txt.gz" - for the last 2 months (since 2/05/06) it never downloaded.

I promise that the name doesn't matter. Mine downloads fine with the default name. Glad to hear yours is downloading though.

Update: just in case, in vBSEO Sitemap Generator 1.7 default filename for Yahoo sitemap will be urllist Although it downloads sitemap.txt.gz without a problem, as Keith stated:
    Code:
    06:09 sitemap.txt.gz Yahoo 68.142.249.78 Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; Yahoo! Slurp; http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/ysearch/slurp)
