Looks like they have changed the process for getting an AppID. That form is new.
Mm.. yes, looks like something is changing in Yahoo sitemaps API. They create App IDs automatically now (I was able to choose own titles before) and they do not work with yahoo notifications constructed as described here: Site Explorer Documentation for Yahoo! Search Web Services
Looks like you will have to manually submit yahoo sitemap at https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/submit for now.

I chose my own yahoo app ID just 4 days ago. That must be very new.
Make sure you do not choose special charachters or spaces in yahoo application id, you will have problems.
use small alphabets with 0-9 numerics only to avoid problems.

So what is the resolution for the automatically generated APP ID's? When I signed up for it I was provided with the ID and am recieving the Failed notice on the Yahoo ping as well. I signed up for the APP ID on Wednesday or Thursday of this past week.
I just revisited this issue, and by putting the path to my urllist.txt.gz in the 'application path' box on the application form, it works! I just ran the sitemap generator after entering my new appID and turning on yahoo autonotify, and it all ran like clockwork.![]()

Via FTP it's in /forum/vbseo_sitemap/data/urllist.txt.gz
Via HTTP it varies depending on how your settings are configured, but usually http://www.yoursite.com/forum/urllist.txt.gz or http://www.yoursite.com/urllist.txt.gz

Your Application ID will be like this http://api.search.yahoo.com/webservi...er_application

any help greatly appreciated
