    xmlsitemap in webmaster tools

    Hi all,

Before installing vbseo I had vbulletin generating sitemaps and submitting them. Since then, I have installed sitemap for goog/yahoo and it seems to be running well. (I think)

I have a couple of questions though. The xmlsitemap.php was still being submitted by vb so, i disabled it. I then noticed it was still in my webmaster tools under all sitemaps and was still being read everyday. So, I deleted the file??? I probably should have checked here first before doing that but, will that screw anything up? Now when I check my sitemap info, the ones that sitemap for goog/yahoo are working fine but the xmlsitemap is still trying to be read everyday. Being that the file no longer exists, it is getting the red X. My question is, is this ok?

My other concern is my homepage is still not showing up on google, even if I search for it as "nexusforum". It was there and now since I switched over to the new sitemap gen it is gone. No big deal as long as it will be back but I just want to make sure everything is working as it should.

Thanks for the help as always.

Deleting the vb file is the right thing to do.

It looks like your 404 errors are all vb-style URLs. Make sure you have 'include old urls if have vbseo' setting off and that vB is set to Standard Urls.

Thanks Brian. Where do I check those settings? VB cp or VBSEO?

    In vBSEO Sitemap generator settings.

P.S : I'm recommended after doing this change to remove all .gz files located in vbseo_sitemap/data folder then re-generate your sitemap manually from vBSEO Sitemap generator Cp
