    Ok...

I understand VBSEO Creates the sitemaps automatically into google correct?

I can go to my Webmaster Tools and I don't see the ones that supposably auto created..

I only see the ones I manually submitted.

You should manually submit sitemap in Google Webmaster account.

vBSEO Sitemap Generator pings Google and other search engines automatically every time sitemap is created.

    There's 2 sides to it.

    1) User submitted to /webmasters portal.
This is for tracking your sitemap, seeing what's indexed, etc etc.

    2) Cron Ping
This tells google that your sitemap is new (even if it's not) and to go get it. From there google will auto load it into whatever they do with it, and if you're lucky, they will follow some urls.

I guess the best way to look at it is to think of the portal as a 'reports' page, and nothing more.

Yahoo didn't like the "_". I had to rename it to upload to yahoo. Im not sure if its accepted or processed or what. They seem to be alot slower than google showing errors and such..

As for Google. I manually submitted my Sitemap created by VBSEO:

    http://www.dieselhaulin.com/forums/sitemap_1.xml.gz

    Correct?

And, How often will I need to do this. Or does VBSEO take of this for me?

My index looks small? does it look normal to you guys?

    Thanks for all your help!

    yup. that's it

just this one time is all you have to do it. From here on in, it's automated via the task.

index IS small. it simply POINTS to the sitemap_1, sitemap_N files (which is why there's a 20k limit.. after 20k urls, it goes to sitemap_2 and so on)

    I don't understand this...I tried to submit:

    http://www.bigfishpokerclub.com/foru...p_index.xml.gz

And it said in Google, you are trying to submit a file, please submit a URL.

What am I doing wrong here? What do I submit? Is this necessary if I am using 3.6.9? and 3.10 and 2.10?

    Thanks!

    Hello,

you should submit Big Fish Poker Club Forums - Online Poker Players Forum as a new Site in Webmaster tools and then submit sitemap_index.xml.gz sitemap in it.
