Thanks for this. I have made the changes and still not able to access the sitemap here - http://www.alpharadiotv.com/forum/sitemap_index.xml.gz
.htaccess now looks like this:
RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} .*alpharadiotv.com RewriteRule ^((urllist|sitemap_).*\.(xml|txt)(\.gz)?)$ vbseo_sitemap/vbseo_getsitemap.php?sitemap=$1 [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !(admincp/|modcp/|cron|vbseo_sitemap/) RewriteRule ^((archive/)?(.*\.php(/.*)?)?)$ vbseo.php [L,QSA]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !^(admincp|modcp|clientscript|cpstyles|images)/
RewriteRule ^(.+)$ vbseo.php [L,QSA]
AS mentioned earlier I have disabled the archive and just checking if that will make any difference in the bolded line.
Thanks.
Please open a ticket with ftp access for troubleshooting.
Btw, do you have line-breaks there? i.e.:
Code:RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} .*alpharadiotv.com RewriteRule ^((urllist|sitemap_).*\.(xml|txt)(\.gz)?)$ vbseo_sitemap/vbseo_getsitemap.php?sitemap=$1 [L] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !(admincp/|modcp/|cron|vbseo_sitemap/) RewriteRule ^((archive/)?(.*\.php(/.*)?)?)$ vbseo.php [L,QSA] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !^(admincp|modcp|clientscript|cpstyles|images)/ RewriteRule ^(.+)$ vbseo.php [L,QSA]

Apply the fix mentioned in this post : Links not working after site transferMySQL Error : Unknown column 'groupid' in 'where clause'
Also take a look at this thread :
[How To] Completely Turn Off the vBulletin Archive
yes shadab, i did apply those changes but still the sitemap is not running and giving the same error.
and as for the turning off vbulletin archive, i would like the archive to stay on. thats what i intended to know how to fix this![]()
ok, upon shadab's advice, i went through once again.
it didnt work.
but then i consistently re-did those changes and then tried it again and this time the sitemap was generated. i dont know what i was missing during the first 3-4 tries and why i accomplished it later. but the important thing is, finally i was able to generate the sitemap. thanx shadab.
now as for the archives, do we need to turn them off? i have seen on some forums that they have the archives in the footer area and i wanted the same for my forum. so by following the steps, will i still be able to display those archives?
a question: where is the robot.txt file located? i tried to find a file with this name but couldnt
Glad you got it working, finally.
IMO, the archives are not quite needed when you have vBSEO. Heres a good read :
Why the vBulletin archive is useless and counterproductive
It's located at : domain.com/robots.txt [See example]
If it's not there, you can create it yourself.
thank you very much shadab, bro u have been of great help.
so i create this text file with the name robots.txt in the same format (as you showed in your example) and simply upload it?
i am sorry for my ignorance, but why i dont have it and why is it necessary? bear with my ignorance a bit further
thanx
