Hi, i just installed vbseo and sitemap today and im trying to verify if the sitemap is generated correctly.

I tried following the steps in the first post of this thread but it keeps comming back as a broken link. ive tried the url a few ways but no luck. Heres where it should be (i think) http://www.reef-geeks.com/forums/sitemap_index.xml.gz

can anyone look at this and help me out a little?

Yup, that's the correct location, but its not there


1) make sure it's actually run for the first time. If you just installed it, you need to trigger it off manually the first time (or, wait until 2AM when it runs in cycle). You can run it by going to forums/vbseo_sitemap/ and clicking on the generate link.

2)if that fails, make sure the forums/vbseo_sitemap/data/ folder is chmod 777.

now, head over to google.com/webmasters and bing.com/webmaster and get your sites verified (i recommend the blank html file) and the submit submitted

Yahoo is soon to be replaced with bing's engine. I wouldn't bother with it at this point.

@404's, what are the pages. If they are VALID 404s, there's nothing to worry about. If they are valid urls, why is the bot seeing them as 404s?

Sorry but i have no idea how to answer your question about the 404's. This is what i see

There's "No data available" which means you don't have any of these issues
