Verifying Sitemap to Google problem

verification is NOT a required step to use Google sitemap, they will still be downloaded and parsed by google without a verification.

It just gives you more details for crawling stats (unreachable pages, http errors and similar).

My solution, posted above, was to turn off vbseo, do the verification, and turn it back on. The "Redirect to 404 page" did not work for me. Being on a shared host I am not sure how the header codes are sent.

Removing .htaccess and turning off vbSEO didn't work at all, What can I do to fix it? Where do I put my (uploaded) file if my domain is http://forum.xleagues.net No matter what I do google will not verify!!!
