    vbseo sitemap: should I index posts?

    Hi there!

    I have about 30000 threads and 600000 serps in google.
    I just installed vbseo-sitemap.
    Should I index the hole posts?

    This would guide the user to (imho) useless pages, the most will close them after crawled.
    But will I loose serps if I deactivate posts in the sitemap?

    You will not lose any SERPs. The Google Sitemap is just a guide for Googlebot.

    However, you might consider reducing the default priority value for show post pages within the settings.

    Hi Joe! Thank you for your answer.

    Whats do you think about to switch the index-posts completely off?

    @archimedes:

    It is definitely an option. But, I would recommend just lowering the priority and frequency if you want them to be considered less significant than other pages such as forum display and show thread.

    While turning show posts off will decrease the # of URLs in the sitemap significantly. Google will still find them on its own.

    Remember show post pages actually help to add more traffic generating content to your forum. We have a smart rel=nofollow feature that prevents them from being considered duplicates when show thread pages contain only 1 post.

    Should I include (or activate) the archive?

    Isn't it "useless" since vBSEO runs (DC)?

    Since there will be relatively few archive pages in comparison to other page types, I would recommend activating it for the sitemap.

    I observed the more page indexed your alexa rank increase. For this reason including more urls in siteamp may be helpful. What ever you have as a sontent you should show Search engines to index. Sitemaps are tool for this.
