How many different terms were you ranking for? How many do you rank for now?

Did you lose position on all keywords or just "classicos" and perhaps a few others?

    Did you change anything else?

Do you have a Google Webmaster Control Panel account? Is that reporting any issues with your site?

    Did you experience any downtime?

    Really don't know...

all keyworks! Before, when if search for anything related with classic cars we always in 1st-3st position. Now, we just appear if I try my site name (portal classicos) and the result it's the archive (www.portalclassicos.com/forum/archive/index.php). See:
    portal classicos - Pesquisa Google
It seems the bot no longer see my site or see just the archive (which curiously is Disallow in robots.txt). But the record of vBSEO Google/Yahoo Sitemap and Google Webmaster indicates successfully daily downloads of sitemap ...

Well - the downtime is a critical factor. If Google crawled you extensively during that downtime, you could lose out big time.

    My recommendation is the following:
    • Do you have Google Analytics or another stats program? If not, get one. You need to be able to get detailed information on changes.
    • Install vBSEO.
    • Switch the flag in your sitemap plugin to indicate that vBSEO is installed.
From there, keep your site online full time. Try to avoid any more disruptions.

Hopefully, your site should not be held back too long from the downtime. It should recover.

Same thing here - After changing site over to vbulletin/vbseo, site ran great, daily views went from 100 max, to 600-800/day after three months, until one day nothing from google, even the main keyword "wauseon" the site held as number 1 slot for 10 years. Site is banned at google, two requests for reconsideration seem to be ignored. (wauseon.com)

Were you running any non-relevant links Jim? Make any other changes during the 3 month period following vBSEO?

Actually, yes. I suspect it might be the outgoing/incoming pings. All of the outgoing went to useless wordpress blogs that looked like they were set up to scrape content. After noticing the useless reciprocal links, or whatever it is, and not even sure what it did, it didn't look too good to me so I disabled it. I think it was enabled for about two weeks total.

Still waiting for google to reconsider. I submitted one, waited over a month, got rid of vbCMS as a front page and submitted another.
